The National One Coat Stucco Association (NOCSA) has completed extensive laboratory testing to develop performance criteria to verify One Coat Stucco performance of the Drainage Plane.
The purpose of this test program was to demonstrate that for One Coat Stucco Systems where a weather resistive barrier, meeting the requirements of Section 1404.2 of the 2006 International Building Code, is installed behind the EPS foam, adequate drainage of infiltrating of water occurs.
The tests were performed by NOCSA and its members to meet new requirements of the International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), for the Drainage Plane located behind cementitious exterior wall coverings. The revised acceptance criteria AC11 was approved by the ICC-ES Committee on June 7, 2007 and was effective July 1, 2007.
The Specialized Testing of Santa Fe Springs, California was contracted by Ron Ogawa of Ronald Ogawa & Associates, Inc., to conduct the tests. Ogawa served as the test program consultant for NOCSA and supervised the tests.
The ICC-ES is requiring Evaluation Reports issued on or after the effective date of July 1, 2007and falling within the scope of this criteria to comply with the revised criteria - AC11 - 3.2.10.
Evaluation reports issued prior to the effective date may be in compliance either with the new acceptance criteria or with the previous edition. However, those based on a superseded version must be brought in compliance with the new criteria at the time the reports are reissued.
Members of NOCSA who participated in this test program are eligible to utilize the report of the testing with a Letter of Authorization from the Executive Director of NOCSA.
